Selamat Datang to Persatuan Sutradara Malaysia blog

Persatuan Sutradara Malaysia or Film Directors’ Association of Malaysia (FDAM) was established in 1990. Membership is divided into three categories, i.e. Associate Member, Active Member and Accredited Member. All new members are offered the Associate membership upon joining the association (unless approved otherwise by the committee). After a minimum of one year being a member, an Associate Member can be considered for upgrade to an Active membership status with proof of their directorial works during the one year period and after attending classes conducted by the association. An Active Member with a high level of creative and artistic achievement recommended by a special panel appointed by the association or a member who has won an award from a festival recognized by the association can be granted an Accredited Membership status with the authority to use the association acronym “fdam” at the end of their name. Foreign film directors practiced in Malaysia with work permit issued by the government of Malaysia can be accepted as an associate member.

Have a great day!
